Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapists strive to improve the patient’s activities of daily living (ADL) such as dressing, bathing, cooking, feeding, toileting skill and leisure activities. Occupational therapists are trained to identify problems in these areas and make recommendations for improvement. At times, equipment recommendations are made including rolling walkers, tub benches, commodes, and adaptive eating utensils.
Speech Therapy
A Speech Therapist (SLP) assesses speech, language, cognitive function and swallowing skills to identify areas of deficit. These areas include articulation, fluency, voice projection, receptive and expressive language disorders in order to determine an evidenced based treatment plan. Within the geriatric population, Speech-Language Pathologists typically focus on speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing abilities. It is a Speech-Language Pathologist's job to identify a problem in any or all areas and provide therapeutic treatment to enhance a person’s ability to communicate with family, friends, and doctors, as well as, make safe, competent decisions.
Physical Therapy
Our Physical Therapists concentrate on improving the patient’s ability to walk, increase their balance, muscle strength, and coordination through personal hands on treatment- through one-on-one therapeutic exercise or workout training guidance and application of manual therapy such as joint mobilization, soft and deep tissue massage, and myofascial release.
